Charity Golf Classic

While we’re beginning to see positive signs including the reopening of some businesses and services, including golf courses (woo hoo!), we must remain vigilant to protect the health and safety of everyone in our community amid the COVID-19 pandemic. After careful consideration, we are postponing our annual Charity Golf Classic from July 9th to Thursday, August 27th.
Our highest priority is the safety of the people we support, our employees, volunteers, supporters and golfers. While the August 27th date is tentative and subject to change or cancellation based on the recommendations of public health officials, we are hopeful that we can host you for the 30th Anniversary of this much-loved and successful event – even if it includes some modifications in an effort to maintain physical distancing.
We ask that you mark your calendar for August 27th and save the date to join us for what we hope will be another great event to support children and youth with intellectual disabilities to receive support throughout the summer months.
If you have any questions, please contact Tony DeSantis, Manager, Community Relations and Resource Development at 519-776-6483, extension 246 or email at tony@communitylivingessex.org.

Community Living Essex County played host to the 29th Annual Charity Golf Classic at Sutton Creek Golf Club on Thursday, July 11th, 2019. A field of 132 golfers, including representatives from municipalities from across Essex County enjoyed a fun day of golf and raised over $22,000 for Community Living Essex County in support of people with an intellectual disability and their families across Essex County.

Community Living Essex County wishes to thank the many area businesses and organizations throughout Essex County for their generosity in serving as hole and dinner sponsors for the event. As well, thanks to Black Bear Wines– Kingsville for serving as our 2019 prize sponsor. Finally thanks to all of the staff and volunteers who worked hard to ensure another successful event.

Congratulations to Team LaSalle who beat out teams from the municipalities of Lakeshore and Kingsville, Essex, Amherstburg and Leamington all vying for the coveted “Municipal Cup” and bragging rights for the municipality with the lowest overall team score at the 2019 event.
