Community Living Essex County played host to the 26th Annual Charity Golf Classic at Sutton Creek Golf Club in Essex on Thursday, July 14th. A sold out field of 144 golfers, including representatives from municipalities from across Essex County enjoyed a fun day of golf and raised a total of $18,000 for Community Living Essex County in support of people with an intellectual disability and their families across Essex County.
Highlights of the annual best ball scramble tournament included a silent auction and eighteen holes of golf were followed by a dinner reception where awards and prizes were presented to the participants.
Team Leamington beat out teams from the municipalities of Lakeshore and Kingsville, Essex and defending champions LaSalle all vying for the coveted “Municipal Cup” and bragging rights for the municipality with the lowest overall team score. Congratulations again to the winning team from the Town of Leamington that included Mayor John Paterson, Town of Leamington Chief Administrative Officer Peter Neufeld, Ward Hutchins and Brian Humphreys.
The foursome of Aldo DiNardo, Steve Crowe, Dave Hill and Jennifer Madore had the best overall low gross team score.
Community Living Essex County wishes to thank the many area businesses and organizations throughout Essex County for their generosity in donating prizes for the participants and for serving as lead, sign, and hole and dinner sponsors for the event. As well, thanks to all of the staff and volunteers who worked hard to ensure another successful event.
