Our Employment Staff Team (Career Compass) will use their expertise to develop skills, assist in finding competitive employment, and help to maintain a positive work relationship with employers. Guidance is provided every step of the way, on an as-needed basis for both the job seekers and businesses we working with.

What are Employment Services?

Our recently modernized Employment Services, known as Career Compass combines years of experience in providing employment services with a fresh look and approach. We assist each person to develop work related skills, assist in seeking opportunities for meaningful employment, provide on site job coaching, and provide direction with small business start ups and their sustainability.

Training is based on individual goals and may include:

  • Résumé Writing
  • Interview Preparation
  • Employment Applications
  • Work Experience Opportunities
  • Workplace Expectations

eVantage

eVantage is a 2-year project funded by the Ministry of Children and Community of Social Services through the Employment and Modernization fund. The project aims to implement comprehensive IT solutions into employment service delivery. There are 5 member agencies taking part in this pilot: Community Living Essex County, META Vocational Services, Niagara Training and Employment Agency, Niagara College Canada’s CICE Program, with the Ontario Disability Employment Network providing expertise in coordination, monitoring & evaluation of the project.

With the introduction of technology, eVantage seeks to build capacity, improve effectiveness in employment supports, enable virtual job coaching, assist users with task implementation/retention, and assess workplace performance. The project aims to improve overall efficiency in employment support provision with an eye to increase service capacity resulting in more people served.
