Forest therapy is the practice of spending time in nature for the purpose of enhancing health, wellness, and happiness.

Dark Sky Night

Join members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada (Windsor Centre) for an evening of stargazing! Bring your own binoculars or take a look through on of the special telescopes on site for the evening.

Volunteer Opportunity – Earth Day Tree Planting

Sunday, April 28 | 10am-12pm

ERCA is looking for volunteers for their upcoming Earth Day Tree Planting, taking place on Sunday, April 28 from 10am-12pm.
Tree planting will take place at the green space south of Wyandotte, between Florence & Martinique in Windsor.  Parking is available in the parking lots off of Riverside Drive near Sand Point Beach, and people will be there to direct volunteers.

Note: Groups of 10+ are asked to register as a team, but smaller groups/individuals are welcome to show up on the day of.

Muscle Pump Classes

Polish Club Windsor, 1275 Langlois Ave., Windsor

Join the Polish Club of Windsor for Muscle Pump fitness classes every Wednesday afternoon.  Classes at $7 for drop-in or $30 for 5 classes.  Classes are open to adults of all ages and fitness abilities, and exercises can be modified. Maple Syrup Festival

March 2 & 3 | 11am-4pm
John R. Park Homestead, 15 Essex County Rd 50, Essex

Celebrate the end of winter and take part in a time-honoured tradition! At the Maple Syrup Festival you’ll have the chance to make maple taffy in the snow, see syrup being made and learn the science of maple!

Buildings and washrooms at John R. Park Homestead are wheelchair accessible, however the grounds are a park-like setting and pathways are not paved.  For people with mobility issues, it is recommended to arrive early as the on-site parking fills quickly.

Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for children. John R. Park Homestead has generously waived admission fees for support staff attending with someone they support. Support staff will need to self-identify to the admission volunteers.
