Colchester – Ontario Martinfest

Learn about the Purple Martin through speakers, presentations and learning activities.  See an active Purple Martin Colony and even learn how to attract Purple Martin and other songbirds to your property!
Admission is FREE, however a donation for the food bank is appreciated.

Comber – Outdoor Movie Night

Enjoy a FREE outdoor screening of the movie Coco.  Movie starts at dusk.  Bring your own chairs, blankets and snacks.  If rain/wind the movie night will be hosted at the Atlas Tube Centre from 7-8:30 pm

LaSalle – Family Fishing Day

Saturday, July 7 | 8:00am-1:00pm
Riverdance Building, Front Road Park

This is an all-ages event, open to anyone who is interested in learning how to fish!  A limited number of fishing rods (and bait) will be available for people who do not have their own, and volunteers will be available for instruction.
The Riverdance Building and Freshwater Restoration Ecology are both wheelchair accessible.  There is also accessible parking and a paved path to the fishing dock.

Tecumseh – Outdoor Movie Night

Enjoy a FREE screening of Ferdinand under the stars. Bring your own blankets & lawn chairs.  This movie night is sponsored by the Tecumseh Youth Advisory Committee.  There is an accessible paved pathway that runs from the parking lot and throughout the park.

Volunteer Opportunities at Upcoming Hospice Events

The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County is looking for volunteers for a variety of fundraising events throughout the summer, including the Kids for Hospice Duathlon/Triathlon on June 24th.  Most volunteer opportunities include handing out water at water stations, manning intersections and setting up for events.  If interested, please contact Natalie Crawford for full list of dates and volunteer opportunities at ncrawford@communitylivingessex.org.

Fireworks

Windsor Waterfront

The 60th Annual Ford Fireworks takes place on June 25, 2018.  Many roads surrounding downtown Windsor are closed on fireworks night, so plan parking/transportation accordingly.  Transit Windsor buses are free on fireworks night, from 6pm-12:45am and there is a park-and-ride shuttle from Devonshire Mall.
