FREE Fitness Classes, Movie Nights & More!

Rick Atkin Park, Leamington Marina

Pathway to Potential is sponsoring FREE fitness classes on Tuesday evenings in Leamington! The classes are welcoming to all fitness levels, and instructors are able to make modifications to those who require a variation to the exercise.  Bootcamp @ the Beach is a bit more rigorous than the other classes.  The classes meet in the upper Marina Park area (Rick Atkin Park) which is accessible by wheelchair.  Wear comfortable clothing, bring a water bottle and prepare to have fun!

Colchester Family Fun Event

Saturday, July 28 | 12pm-10:30pm
Colchester Park, 100 Jackson Street, Colchester

This event features a wide range of activities for all ages, including Beebo the Clown, superheroes and princesses from Enchanted Adventure Parties, and birds of prey from Kingsport Environmental.  Live music starts at 4:45pm and will continue until the fireworks begin at dusk. Admission and parking are both FREE.

Volunteer Opportunities – The Uncommon Festival Amherstburg

Friday, August 3-Sunday, August 5
Amherstburg

The House of Shalom is looking for volunteers to help oversee road barricades in Amherstburg for the upcoming Uncommon Festival, August 3-5.  Please share with anyone you think may be interested!

    • The shifts are 4-5 hours in length and require volunteers to man the road barricades to ensure vehicles are not driving down roads closed for the festival.  Each barricade requires 1-2 people per shift.
    • Volunteers must be 14 & older.
    • Student volunteers will receive volunteer hours.
    • There is some volunteer paperwork that needs to be completed as requested by the Town of Amherstburg.
    • Water will be provided for volunteers during their shift.
    • Volunteers will also be provided with an apron to wear as part of the theme of the festival.

Fort Malden – FREE Admission Day

Fort Malden National Historic Site, Amherstburg

Spend the day learning about Fort Malden and it’s history!

Accessible parking is available, and all washrooms and paths are wheelchair accessible.  The Visitor Information Centre and Interpretive Centre are also wheelchair accessible, aside from the second floor of Interpretive Centre.

Point Pelee National Park – Astronomy Weekend & Dark Sky Nights

Point Pelee National Park is open all night long between Saturday, August 11-Monday, August 13. Explore the park after dark and experience the dark skies of Point Pelee!
The Meteor Shower Beach Party takes place Saturday, August 11 from 9pm-2am. Join members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada Windsor Centre on the beach and enjoy the meteor shower!
Regular park entrance fees apply.  There are wheelchair accessible trails throughout the park.
