Select-a-Break: Community Living Essex County’s flexible respite options offering families and caregivers a short break while providing children, youth and adults with intellectual disabilities opportunities to participate in their communities, form friendships, learn new skills, and have fun!

Select-a-Break options include:

respite in the evening for a few hours
overnight respite
respite during daytime hours
respite with a Host Family
respite in your own home or in a Community Living home

Activities, Focus Areas:Session 1: Welcome Fall!
Ice breakers, games, movies, pumpkin festival, haunted house, Book Fest (Windsor), Colasanti's Tropical Gardens, skill building.

Session 2: Season to Give Back!
SKill building, Volunteer/Participate at River Lights events, Holiday Workshop/Wreath making, shopping, gift wrapping booth, baking, movies.
Session 1 and 2:
Culinary skills, financial fitness, exploring art, animal safety/rescue, physical fitness, exploring music, nutrition, social media, basic First Aid, employment skills.
