Who We are and What We Do

• Since 1961 Community Living Essex County, a not-for-profit charitable organization has been committed to assisting people of all ages who have an intellectual disability and their families throughout Essex County.
  
  
• The goal of Community Living Essex County is that all persons live in a state of dignity, share in all elements of living in the community, and have the opportunity to participate effectively.
  
  
• Community Living Essex County envisions a society where everyone belongs, has equality, respect and acceptance. The gifts, uniqueness and innate value of each individual are celebrated, supported and acknowledged as essential to the completeness of the whole community.
  
  
• We help the community develop its capacity to welcome and support people who have not always had the same opportunities as the rest of us to participate in community life in meaningful, productive ways.
  
  
• Over 600 employees and many dedicated volunteers join together at Community Living Essex County to ensure that quality supports and opportunities are provided to people with intellectual disabilities in Essex County.
